Back to School! Revit Base Keynote Update.

It’s BACK TO SCHOOL time and here at Hayne that doesn’t just mean getting the kiddos some new clothes and school supplies that also means a refresh and reboot for OURSELVES and the OFFICE! So this week we are looking at updating our base keynote file…

Revit comes with standard keynotes, and there is a lot of information in there, but it is not geared towards how we annotate, so a few years ago we made our base Hayne Keynote File which included just the overarching headings from the Master Spec CSI system.

As we started using keynotes more and more (see keynotes versus text notes) we thought we needed a little more detail in our base file to help in our first round of annotating.  To accomplish this we will revise our Hayne Base Keynote file to include ALL the headings in the Master Spec CSI system (see link below for purchase information).   This will make the first pass of annotating more accurate and help us determine what project-specific notes we need to create as we complete detailing.

We are always looking for ways to be more efficient, and sometimes, you need to spend a little more time on the back end to improve the process. Now, how long do you think it will take me to actually update the file?
