“Back to School” Shopping List

“Back to School” Shopping List

Hello friends! So it is back to school for many people (I can tell with the increase in traffic in the morning..) and although we did not have summer off (#keepwishing) we thought we would use this as the theme for our post today. Everyone is getting their shopping done and so we want to share with you some of the items on our “back to school” shopping list. Check them out below!

1-Red Pencils

First thing on the list is our fearless leader’s favorite! Red Pencils

There is a love-hate relationship with this purchase.. BUT we need them so let’s check them off the list!

2-Trace Paper

vs

Okay so here is the big question.. white or yellow trace!?!? Our office has both but tends to use yellow more often.  What is your office preference?

3-Drafting Dots

These are super useful to keep the trace in place and flat!

4- Binders

Here@HAYNE we like organization (#efficiency) so in our office we use a white binder for the administrative information (ex. meeting minutes, contracts, project information, supplemental drawings) and the black binder holds the material and finish information( ex. wall, floor and exterior material specs, appliance specs, lighting and plumbing specs). The white binder is usually taken to site meetings to help correct any “confusion” the contractor might have.

5- Sheet Protectors

Sheet protectors to fill in those handy-dandy binders! It doesn’t need to read like a book with only 1 sheet in each sleeve, we bundle sheets that relate to each other to save space.

6- Architectural Scales

SCALES! Now this shouldn’t be a reoccurring purchase but ladies and gentlemen we have a scale thief!! For some reason we are down to 1 plastic scale. Although we have a few metal scales… we prefer the white plastic ones so well add them to the list and hopefully not need to add them for a while!

7- Pens

We like to have different color pen options so that drawings or revisions can be read more clearly. For example, blue is use to show drainage revisions while red is to shown architectural changes. Do you feel different colors make drawings easier or harder to read?

8- Air-Compression Duster

We usually eat at our desks so our computer area and keyboard can get a little dirty sometimes. This air-compression duster helps get rid unwanted “things” and fun fact: it can also be used to attack uninvited critters in the office

9- Custom Notepad/books

Look at that beautiful Hayne H! We have custom grid notepads and lined notebooks with our firm’s logo made to use either in house or onsite for notes and measurements.

10- Program Subscription Renewal

Holli and I would say this is one the very important list items! Our computer program subscriptions need to get renewed annually. This doesn’t go in our Amazon shopping cart but still goes on the list since we can’t really do our job without them.

Bonus Item- Snacks

SNACKSSSSSS!!! Here@HAYNE we like to snack. Our Office Mom does a pretty good job at keeping us stocked but sometimes we like to throw in a few suggestions and mix things up!

Well, we hope you enjoyed our “Back to School” shopping list! Let us know what goes on yours!
