28 Jan Cocktails & Casas: Stone Canyon & The Midnight Martini
The new year arrives quietly in the hills of Bel Air—cool mornings, long shadows, and a sense of calm after the celebrations have passed. January is a moment to reset and reflect, making it the perfect time to revisit Stone Canyon, a home defined by timeless sophistication and quiet grandeur. This Cocktails & Casas pairing is about easing into the year with intention, elegance, and a touch of indulgence.
Set on eight sweeping acres in the hills of Bel Air, Stone Canyon is more than a residence—it’s an estate designed for art, nature, and connection. What began as a modest family home was thoughtfully reimagined into a private retreat, where every view and material choice speaks to enduring beauty and balance.
The remodel and addition introduced new layers of luxury: a freestanding art studio, infinity-edge pool, entertaining pavilion, amphitheater, vegetable garden, and even a small vineyard. The architecture follows the natural contours of the hillside, with a palette of stone, reclaimed wood, and steel that feels both grounded and refined.
Inside, interiors by Ann Carter bring a sense of composed warmth—soft textures, timeless furnishings, and artful restraint. Stone Canyon is a place that supports both gathering and solitude, where architecture quietly elevates everyday moments.
🍸 The Midnight Martini

To complement Stone Canyon’s polished yet understated character, we’re mixing The Midnight Martini—a rich, espresso-forward cocktail that feels equally suited to late evenings and slow winter nights.
Why it works:
Like the home itself, The Midnight Martini balances structure with depth. Bold espresso notes and a hint of citrus create a drink that’s confident and refined, perfect for moments of reflection or a well-earned pause at the end of the day.
✨ The Midnight Martini Recipe

Ingredients:
- 2 oz vodka (we did a special request of tequila too!)
- ½ oz coffee liqueur
- ½ oz espresso (freshly brewed and cooled)
- ¼ oz simple syrup (optional)
- Orange twist or espresso beans for garnish
Instructions:
- Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.
- Shake vigorously until chilled and frothy.
- Strain into a chilled martini glass.
- Garnish with an orange twist or espresso beans.
The result is smooth, aromatic, and quietly indulgent—a cocktail that invites you to linger.
Final Sip
Stone Canyon reminds us that great architecture doesn’t rush—it endures. Paired with The Midnight Martini, this moment is about savoring where you are while looking ahead with clarity and calm.
Here’s to a new year shaped by thoughtful design, meaningful spaces, and rituals worth repeating.
Cheers to 2026—and to starting it well.
