Custom Revit Lighting Family: Ralph Lauren Carrington Medium Sconce

At Hayne Architects, we’re always looking for ways to make our models more accurate, detailed, and visually compelling—especially when it comes to lighting. In our latest project, the Clarmont House exterior remodel, our interior designer selected the elegant Ralph Lauren Carrington Medium Sconce as a key exterior fixture. Like many designer lights, however, this sconce didn’t come with a downloadable Revit model.

The Specification:

Rather than substitute a placeholder or generic file, we built the sconce ourselves based on the available specification sheet.

Why We Make Custom Revit Components

Lighting plays a huge role in how a space feels—so we believe it should be represented as accurately as possible in our models. Since many high-end lighting manufacturers don’t offer Revit files, we’ve developed a process in-house to model custom components that reflect the size, silhouette, and material character of the real product.

For the Carrington Medium Sconce, we relied on product imagery and the spec sheet to create a Revit family that captures the fixture’s distinctive proportions and timeless style. While some dimensions were estimated, the overall vibe is spot on—and our model fits beautifully into our Claremont House renderings.

We’re sharing our custom Revit family below in case it’s helpful to fellow architects, designers, or BIM specialists working on residential exteriors or classically styled homes.

Notes & Disclaimer

This Revit family was created for visual and coordination purposes only. Dimensions were inferred where not provided by the manufacturer. We recommend verifying all measurements with the actual fixture prior to use in construction documentation or detailed clash detection.
