09 Jun Hayne Chit-Chats: BIM Modeling
*Setting the scene*
Polli comes into work excitingly because she has thought of something that she thinks will make modeling in the schematic phase much more efficient.
BLANCA! I totally thought of something that will make modeling easier when first working in the project!
Oh! That’s awesome Polli! What did you come up with?
Okay, SOOOOOO instead of creating a model in place for existing cabinetry, we make a component with instance parameters that can get loaded into the project! AMAZEBALLS RIGHT!?!
…. So… it’s basically modeling the model-in-place component as a separate component that you still have to adjust in each use.. like a model-in-place component…
… Right.. but you only make it once and load it in..
.. You know I’m really not getting the reaction I thought I was going to get..
… yeah… it just sounds like a model-in-place to me..
RIGHT… BUT YOU ONLY HAVE TO LOAD IT IN ONCE!
.. yeah and adjust it every time… like a model-in-place component..
Oh nevermind…
And Polli went on to create the Revit component because deep down in her heart she knew she was right and that one day Blanca will use this component and rejoice with the excitement that she thought she was going to receive today.
Below is a video of Polli making this component.
