07 May Revit Component Rating
Hey friends!
Here@HAYNE we are Revit fans (with mixed emotions about some things) and thought it would be fun to rate the standard component library it comes with. Some categories are great while others could use some changes and then there ones I’ve never opened. We rated them out of 5 stars and zero star categories are because we haven’t used them to give them a rating. I split the folder list in half so take a look at the first 20 folders below to see our rating and comments on some of the categories.
Casework, Detail Items and Lighting are great for starting out as a base or for as-builts but need still need some editing. Doors! This folder has gotten better but Windows still has it beat! Hopefully it can become more like the Windows family! I have no idea what is in the Mass folder…
Okay let’s move on to the second half!
There are quite a few “high likes” in this half! All the structural components are great and are pretty easy to manipulate. Plantings is good too with the variety of plants but could definitely have more selection and visual control in 2D. Plumbing is similar to lighting where it is good as a base or for as-builts to show locations of types of lighting fixtures but still needs editing. Railings are also good as a base and for simple railings but they be a nightmare when you want something a little more complex! Windows!! Windows are great because there is a lot control with sub components such as mullions and trims.
So there you have it! That is how we feel about the stand component Revit library. Let us know what your favorite are or if you ever used something from the Mass folder! Take care and wash those hands!
