09 Jan New Year Goals: DAILY
Happy New Year Everyone!
The New Year is a great time to set goals for yourself and your firm to start the year off right! So for this month we decided to break down our goals into 4 categories: Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Bi-Annually. Let’s start this week with some daily goals we came up with!
Logging in Hours
We use Quickbooks timer in our office to log our hours of what we did each day. This is so that at the end of the month we can bill clients and also see how our time is being spent for each project. Having to log a whole month’s worth of hours at the end of the month can be a bit time consuming and if your tasks weren’t written down then it can be hard to enter what you did on day 2 just from memory. So by logging in our hours daily, it can save time when it is time to export at the end of each month!
Washing Dishes
Most of the time we bring lunch from home and they often come in reusable containers. Since we have our awesome kitchenette in our office we can clean them or any other in-office dishes we use in our sink. BUT we sometimes have a tendency to put our dish in the sink.. and walk back to our desk leaving them to pile until they get done. A good habit for us to start having is washing the dishes either at a certain time at the end of the day or right after we use them. We could even start a chart and everyone is office can rotate turns!
Take a Break
I know the work place can take over and you get sucked into a project BUT it is always good to take some time to step away and decompress. I like the idea of getting out and going for a walk but you can also meditate at your desk!
Music in the Office
Here@HAYNE we Sonos! Although we love and value our headphones greatly, a good alternative is putting music for the whole office. Our Boss Man likes it when he comes into the office and tunes are playing to break the everyday silence. Even though we have very different tastes in music, we either find a common genre or take turns picking tunes!
Digital Filing
Now this is a daily task for that is broken down for a bigger picture. Our files can get messy or ignored when they aren’t being used or become too much to focus on. So if we split the work and took 30 minutes each day to grab just ONE folder and reorganize or clean out, then over time it gets completed! This is a great way to slowly chip away an overwhelming task!
Year 2020! Let’s make goals and let’s stick to them! Next week we will talk our weekly goals so stay tuned but until then let us know what daily office goals you made this year!
