05 Feb On the Drawing Board: Hollywood Hills Remodel & Addition
Tucked away in the Hollywood Hills is a small two-story Mid-Century Modern Home, designed and built by Architect Leslie Arthur in 1956. The one bedroom, one and a half bath home was designed to take advantage of the views of the city, the city lights, the canyon and on a clear day the Ocean.
Touring the house with our new client, the 1950’s detailing shines…
An interior redesign in the mid 80’s leaves many of the original interior walls and structural steel columns clad in mirrors.
Exploring the property included climbing to the roof and seeing the view from the potential Master Bedroom addition…
Now to get down…
The design goal is to maximize the existing square footage, add new living space and work with the existing hillside topography. Working within the Baseline Hillside Ordinance will prove to be a fun challenge!
Some inspiration images from the client…
Looks like we are going to add some Hollywood Glamour to this Mid Century Modern/80’s home…
