PRAIRIE HOUSE, RACINE WISCONSIN

Designed while Robbin Hayne served as Project Architect for the Urban Innovations Group at UCLA under Charles Moore, the Prairie House stands as a sculptural object in the landscape. Its X-shaped plan and monumental roof structure embody a Nordic-inspired approach to modern living, centered around a three-story boulder fireplace that serves as both hearth and art.

The interiors, by Dennis Cannaday, echo the home’s organic strength with refined simplicity.
