Project Spotlight: The Glass Wexler_Under Construction

Project Spotlight: The Glass Wexler_Under Construction

This week we are are going introduce a project that is currently under construction. The Glass Wexler was designed by Donald Wexler and Richard Harrison in 1954 and is a beautiful mid-century single family residence located in Palm Springs, CA. The client desired to have more of an open floor plan that still kept to the original grid, check out the existing floor plan vs the proposed floor plan below:

Proposed Floor Plan

This house had some funky and.. lets say unique spaces, but they seemed to get in the way of functionality. For example, if you look at Bath 2 you will see a center vanity for the sink and when looking at the picture below, you’ll see that it not only extends to the ceiling but it angles upward too! It is interesting but makes the space a tight fit.. this bathroom isn’t a one size fits all!

After getting the client’s input, understanding their wants and needs, we feel we reached a design that is functional and fun! Like I said before, it is currently under construction so check out some onsite job photos of what’s going on at the Glass Wexler!

Could you tell the under construction picture was the same as the before? It is pretty exciting to see the transformation in progress, and even more excited to see it completed. Stay tuned for more updates!!
