Tips & Tricks: Our Default Detail Components in Revit

Hey Friends!

We hope you are staying cool in this crazy heat! We know it’s back to school time so we thought we’d share some tips & tricks this month. This week we want to share some of our go – to Detail Revit components we’ve made that are used often.

1. Access Path Line

This detail component is great when needed to show fireman access around a building or egress paths within a building. The length can be changed and the arrow and start dot can be removed where needed. Look at the Parameter window below.
The other good thing about this component is the length is about to be in a schedule for when you need to show total lengths of different pathways.
Here’s an example of how the different line path’s can be seen and tallied in a schedule!

2. Slope Arrow

This slope arrow is very useful when needing to show slope or grade direction. Since the Revit slope arrow needs a slope to read correctly, this works great on your flat deck in the model that needs to show it has a slope to drain!
The slope text is editable so you can enter “Slope to drain” or “2% Slope” or no text at all. The arrow can also be used as a directional arrow as well! We love components that are multifunctional.

3.Text Line

This detail component is very useful for many different things. This is great for showing fence lines on a property or to show how utilities run on a site.
This is really great because you can change the text to symbolize the different things you need! You can also edit the offset and spacing of the text to customize how it the line.

We hope you these detail components can be useful to you in future projects! So download them, try them out and let us know how they worked out for you!
